Drop foot affects one in one hundred people and can arise as a result of an accident or in conditions such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT), Gullain-Barré-Syndrome, Polio, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis and stroke. Due to reduced mobility in your foot, walking can be impaired, often resulting in a loss of balance and tripping. The Silicone Ankle Foot Orthosis (SAFO) was designed to alleviate these symptoms and medial trials have shown this to be the case in many oft he above conditions.
An attractive and comfortable alternative to traditional rigid Ankle Foot Orthoses, the SAFO orthosis will help improve your balance, correct your walking, stop you tripping and give you a newfound sense of confidence and freedom. The SAFO provides support down the front of your leg and onto the top of your foot. This helps lift your foot while your leg swings during walking.
